Introduction
The Mission
Sailing Therapy would like to offer their boating experience for disabled persons at the lowest cost.
The Challenge
The major costs for Sailing Therapy are fixed and chargeable every day, whether the boat is used or not. These are marina fees for mooring the boat and insurance.
Sailing Therapy is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company organisation and all our staff are volunteers so our annual salary bill is £0.
The Ask
If Sailing Therapy deliver more trips each year then there are two benefits.
- The fixed costs are diluted
- More people experience Chichester Harbour and have their life experiences broadened.
Our sponsorship packages enable more people to enjoy a boat trip and where appropriate, help with the operation of the boat from steering the boat to using mooring lines.
Our catch phrase is “Many of our clients have never ridden a bicycle but they can steer our boat, even from a wheelchair”.
We can tailor sponsorship packages to any sector, e.g. geographic (Fareham) or disability (ADHD) or any sector that your organsiation supports. You can either nominate the clients or we can find them for you.
Our very stable pontoon boat, Rebecca Anne is licensed to carry ten passengers. Whole days are any period between 9am and 5pm. Half days are either any period between 9am and midday or any period between 1pm and 5pm.
The name of the sponsoring organisation is added to our supporters page and also included in the onboarding instructions that are sent to clients so each disabled person or organisation knows who covered the funding for their trip.
Sponsorship Levels
Bronze – £600
Three whole days or six half days.
This sponsorship level could benefit up to 60 persons.
Silver – £1,000
Five whole days or ten half days.
This sponsorship level could benefit up to 100 persons.
Gold – £2,000
Ten whole days or twenty half days.
This sponsorship level could benefit up to 200 persons.
Game changer – £20,000
This package would be used to replace our current pair of petrol outboard engines with a pair of electric engines including batteries, chargers and ancillary costs.
Electric engines would have the advantage of being much quieter which is better for our more nervous clients and are also zero-emission at the point of use, which is better for the special Chichester Harbour environment. A plaque recognising the support from your organisation would displayed in a prominate position on the boat.

- Clients are required to pay £20 to secure their booking.
This payment is used to ensure our utilisation is maximised which dilutes our fixed costs and reduces the cost of each trip.
